As a Licensed, Bonded, and Insured Title Producer, I have undergone extensive background checks in order to obtain my License.  I realize how very important security is, and I want to take a moment to let you, my client know, that at all times your personal information is safeguarded and is never viewed by anyone that does not have legal authority to it.  I have never, nor will never, sell or trade any public, private or non private, personal information concerning you, or any information about you to an outside party.  You can rest assured that once the signing is over, your information is promptly sent to either your loan officer or the title company.  Any information that I by law must keep under the Maryland Code of Ethics is safeguarded from anyone other than myself having access to it.  This same rule applies for those who come by for a single page notary...THIS IS OFFICE POLICY...your information is kept private!  A link has been established to verify my background.

Please feel free to use the following link to see my completed background check:

One of the questions I receive when I make my initial contact to verify the signing with you the client is "....why do I have to give you a copy of my i.d. ....?"  The answer to that is that you are technically not giving ME a copy of your valid government/state issued i.d., you are sending it back with me for the Title Company.  This is a requirement under the Patriot Act which was established under the Gramm-Bailey Act to help fight Terriorizm and Money Laundering.  Anytime you open a new financial account, this information is requested/required, so even if you are refinancing with your current mortgage company, the title company that is being used may not be the same company that you used before, and therefore, they must by law have that information on file.

Security is very, very important to my office. Please do not ask myself or any notary associated with Professional Tax Service (www.1040.com/protax20601) to accept your word on who you are.  We MUST see valid identification.  If your name is not the same as what appears on your documents, please be prepared to show identification that shows your previous and/or new name.  This is especially important for those who get married or divorced.  With fraud on the rise, we take extra measures to protect you, and, therefore want to insure that you are the correct person signing the forms.  If this is any inconvience to you, we are sorry, but we do not want to put any of our clients in a position where someone "pretending" to be you tries to get a document notarized using your name.
I look forward to working with you on getting your loan closed!
For your protection, I never use a "Drop Box" to return your documents.  All documents are taken to the appropriate facility for handling.
