I would like to take this opportunity to remind those clients who make appointments with us for notary signings that they MUST NOT sign the documents that need to be notarized until they have appeared before the notary. This is very important! We understand that you feel you are helping us out by signing everything before you come into the office, but in fact, we will not notarize a document that was not signed in our presence. Also, it is very important that you sign the document(s) the way your name is typed/printed if applicable. Also, please make sure that you have proper identification!
We are here to help you avoid costly and timely mistakes. Please feel free to contact us if you have a question on what can and can not be notarized. Also, we can not notarize a xerox of a birth certificate, death certificate, marriage or drivers license. We notarize signatures! Only a Notary that holds a position as a vital records custodian or is an offical in the respective bureau of vital statistics can notarize those copies as certified true copies.
Again, We work by appointment only and we will do our best to fit you into a time slot. Don't be afraid to ask for an early a.m. appointment!! Do it before you go to work.... stop and get your cup of coffee, swing in here, and off you go .... but make the appointment first please!!!
As a reminder, our primary office (Protfessional Tax Service of Waldorf: www.1040.com/protax) also has a notary that is not a Licensed Title Producer, but who can notarize documents for you.....as long as they do not involve the issuing or sale of title insurance such as you would have with a Refinance of your home.
